0-300kph in 10 seconds apparently. Would be an interesting way to die.

1966 Shelby Super Snake had similar power numbers. 7 were built. 3 or 4 remain. One has New Jersey plates, and went to a show where I saw it and spoke to the current owner. That specific car holds 3 Guinness World Records.
0-150 in 10 seconds is possible, but given the lack of downforce, that's also about the top speed of the car. I trust the guy who owns that Super Snake, he was very open about the cars capabilities. It was all original. Considering it's valued at 6.6 million, I really don't think he had any reason to lie about it.

Cause a solid 13 liters would be bad luck. Or in some places good luck...

One of my dream cars, I remember reading some insane specs about its super light chassis.

Adding downforce to the Cobra will probably make the top speed significantly lower, not increase it, unless you build a new body to utilize the much more dangerous ground effect.
I have no doubt in my mind that this cobra is capable of 230 mph. The question is "For how long?" and "What will break first?"

That really didn't sound like 700+ cubic inches. I was expecting it to sound like Zeus after a night eating Taco Bell.

Ok, let me put this in terms of people who like the club scene in new jersey:
A standard 427 Cobra is like a standard clubber: Fucking insane.
A Cobra Super Snake is this dude on some good cocaine. Really fucking insane.
This, is this guy on a lot of bad, but strong cocaine, an ounce of Krokodil, and some industrial grade acid (2 sheets of the stuff!). Seriously in need of being detained in a mental health facility insane.

True...but I think what he means is...you don't want to drive it at over 150 mph due to your asshole puckering so tightly that it creates a blackhole and sucks the entire universe in with it. But yeah I'm sure it will blow through 200 easily, given the gearing, if you can keep it going in a straight line.

How the fuck does it have enough grip to do 0-186 in 10 seconds...that's obscene...it certainly doesn't look to have an obscene amount of rubber in the rear.

That's one sensible daily driver.
I wonder what's wrong with the wheel fitment. It looks pretty silly with (rear) wheels bulging out of the body. They could be fitted better (as they do in the picture below). The scoop is silly too.

It's more function than form. Gotta fit that motor somewhere.
BTW that cobra is nuts. One day...

Here, we see Mark Webber's asshole creating its own strong gravitational field, forcing his car into orbit around it.

Now here's the sound I imagined. This one is also fitted with nitrous.

This.
The body of the Cobra does not generate enough downforce to keep the car on the ground beyond 160MPH. It will lose traction and get very squirrely. Adding downforce would certainly allow the car to go way faster, but the safety would be completely non-existant.
The late owner of a Super Snake wrapped it around a telephone pole to the point where the driver side front and rear fenders were touching. The Super Snake is a pretty solid chassis (1200HP/1100+TQ) but it will get out of hand before you know its out of hand.
Just because this is a modern version doesnt mean it is exempt from the same limitations as the original.

Right...it's a very primitive design. I remember hearing Carroll Shelby say that the things were so imprecise that they actually had to figure chassis flex and tire flex in with the suspension travel when setting them up for racing. Had to laugh at that.

Ahh yes the rare asshole gravitational force field effect. Almost never captured on camera.

Car has two batteries to make sure it'll always crank over.
Also, despite the badging and paperwork it's not strictly a 40th Anniversary car, it's a true original with some newer shelby parts to make sure it's in working order.

What block did they use to build that engine?
It's got to be some upgraded re-casting made from compacted graphite iron molded in the fires of hell. I cannot think of anything that existed that could take 780 cubes—ever. So much want.

That's kinda like saying "I'd rather be 2 feet from a 10 megaton nuke than an 11 megaton nuke. Both this and the nuke are going to kill you in a matter of nanoseconds.
